Enjoy 25 GB free Online Storage with Skydrive
25 GB of free online storage. Windows Live have launched a new service to provide all its Windows Live account users to get free huge storage online. The service has been named as Skydrive. But is it really worth it? Let me give review according to my experience, as I jumped into it.
http://skydrive.live.com This is the URL which refers to the official website of Skydrive. All you need to do is to sign in with your Windows Live user account (formally known as hotmail), accept to the Windows Live Service Agreement and Privacy Statement and thats it! You have got your 25 GB of free online storage. The question remains, how does it work?
Microsoft has given looks to Skydrive just like the folders you see in your ‘My Documents‘ folder and ‘My Shared Folders’.
With Skydrive, you can not only upload your files into your storage but also share them with your friends, work colleagues, project partners and any other people. You can create, delete folders and upload any file type of any size less then 50MB so that your content is ready to be shared online. And for the personal interest, you can use Skydrive to backup your data at anytime. Similarly you can access it any where around the globe, until you don’t have any restriction for using internet. :D
Not only that, a broader customization lets you share your e-mails, photos, almost anything associated with Windows Live with anyone on the internet, even with those contacts which have accounts on Gmail, Yahoo, AIM, etc. You can give with them permissions for either Read-Only files or give full access for editing and deleting them. And guess what? You Skydrive generates a unique URL for each of your folders, which you can send to any of your friends so that they can view the contents inside that folder.
